Carlos Tevez’s Goals Replaced Already
14 September 09 by Bill
Of course we will miss his League Cup goals when we rest the ‘real’ squad, but Carlos Tevez’s league goal tally has already been reached by Wayne Rooney just five games in.
Tevez made 29 league appearances for United last term, playing 1,858 minutes and scoring a pathetic five times. One more than Nemanja Vidic, and he’s a defender. That works out to one goal every 372 minutes. Pretty poor by anyone’s standards.
This time around, Wayne Rooney has made a blistering start to the campaign. He has played five Premier League games and scored five goals. His current strike rate is a goal every 86 minutes. For every 3 goals Tevez scored, Rooney is scoring 13.
Over the summer and even today, we hear people claiming we will miss Tevez’s goals but before September is even over, we have shown our hand.
Tevez is not missed. Not in the slightest.
