It’s Tottenham in the Final….but only just

If you thought that because Tottenham beat Burnley 4 – 1 in the first leg, their progression to the final was a sure thing; you were wrong. But, you weren’t the only one and no one, let alone the Spurs players, could have predicted what would unfold.
United loanee Fraizer Campbell sat on the bench for the enitre match as Burnley put three passed Spurs, making it 4 – 4 on aggregate in the 88th minute!
It looked like Burnley were going to see it through extra time and win on the away goals rule when in the 118th minute Pavlyuchenko struck. Desperately in need of a goal, Burnley threw everyone forward but were caught out moments later by Jermain Defoe and suffered a harsh exit from the cup.
4 – 3, what a proper cup tie!
