Nemanja Vidic reveals Manchester woes and Spanish ambitions

August 27, 2008

Nemanja Vidic has cast doubt over his long term future at Manchester United by revealing he would one day like to play in the Spain. In an interview with a Russian football magazine, the no nonsense defender revealed he is far from happy with life in Manchester and pours scorn on the weather and the English way of life.

Vidic on the weather:

“You get only a brief glimpse of sunlight before it’s all cloudy again. The winters are mild, but in summer the temperatures seldom go higher than 20C. And it rains, rains, rains.”

Vidic on work life and socialising:

“Here they (people) just don’t have time to feel the joy of life. Throughout the week they all work so hard. They only talk to people at lunch break. Then in the evening they come home and watch the telly, so they can get up early for work the next day. The only time to meet friends is at weekends, but for football players it’s the busiest time of all“.

Vidic on his future:

“I will never stay to live in England, that’s for sure”.

“In future, I would like to test myself in another top league. I’m thinking of Spain”.

With this latest revelation, holding onto our top players will be priority number one next summer with a host of Spanish clubs sure to be alerted to the possibility of bringing one of the world’s best defenders on board as well as the almost guaranteed pursuit of Real Madrid target, Cristiano Ronaldo.
