Park Here For Three More Years
14 September 09 by Bill
Ji-sung Park has signed a contract extension with Manchester United keeping the tireless midfielder at Old Trafford until 2012, according to his agent.
Park joined United from PSV Eindhoven in 2005 and has made 126 appearances for the club and has scored 12 goals.
Despite his lack of goals, his energy and work rate have seen him become an integral member of the squad, often being played in big games although generally not considered a first teamer.
Park is an icon in his native South Korea and many Reds believe his commercial appeal is the reason he is at United – including myself. That said, he is a good player and as long as he is happy to remain a squad member, I see no problem in keeping him here. If he gives his all and sells a tonne of shirts, where is the harm?
