Paul Scholes to retire within 2 seasons

Paul Scholes, aged 33, will retire from football within the next two years.

“I think I’ve got two years left at the most. I can’t say I can’t wait to finish, but I’m looking forward to finishing and everything that goes with it,” he said. “The only thing I will definitely miss is the football. The general life of a footballer is not for me, I suppose. People are just very invasive and are always wanting to know what you’re going to do.”

Scholes has played his entire career at Manchester United, joining the club when he was just 14. After initially training as a striker, he adapted his game to become the midfield general he is today.
