Rafael out for a month
27 February 09 by Christopher Hurley
Rafael da Silva will miss Sunday’s Carling Cup final with Tottenham after it was revealed the young Brazilian has suffered a fracture on his ankle.
“Rafael is out for a month with a slight hairline fracture of his ankle,” Ferguson told his pre-match press conference.
The defender picked up the injury in United’s 2 – 1 victory over Blackburn and would of all but certainly started in Sunday’s final had he not picked up this knock,
“It’s a blow for the kid because he’s been playing in all the games and he’s done so well” said Ferguson. “He deserves to be in the final.”
