Rooney on the comeback trail
4 February 09 by Roy Banks
Wayne Rooney completed his first full training session yesterday and the England striker is poised for his comeback which could come as early as this Sunday when Manchester United visit West Ham in the Premier League.
Rooney hasn’t featured for United since limping off against Wigan with a hamstring injury on 14th January after scoring the match winner.
Ferguson had initially suggested he wouldn’t rush Rooney back but the forward has worked hard to be fit ahead of schedule. England are due to play a friendly with Spain on 11th February so it remains to be seen whether Ferguson will keep the striker wrapped up until after then.
A more likely return for Roon would be Manchester United’s fifth round FA Cup clash with either Derby or Nottingham Forest who play today for the honour of meeting the English, European and World Champions.

Like you said Bill, Ferguson’s probably gonna keep Roon to United.
I’d think he’ll be making his comeback in the FA Cup.
Let Rooney play the friendly match. Rooney is my favourite player this season.
