United’s youngsters lift the Milk Cup again

Manchester United youngsters were celebrating after lifting the Milk Cup for a record third time following a 3 – 0 victory over South Coast Bayern in Coleraine last night. It was the first time youth team coach Paul McGuinness, son of the legendary Wilf McGuinness, has won the trophy on his fifth time of asking.

Prior to the final, United had scored an impressive 17 goals in 4 games and wasted no time in carving open their American opposition. The first goal coming on 13 minutes courtesy of sweetly struck Oliver Norwood free kick. Nicolas Ajose added a second just before half time with Federico Macheda adding the third just moments after half time.

Speaking of the Reds impressive route to the final, Paul McGuinness said “The boys were superb and worked so hard in difficult conditions. I’m proud of them.”
