Wayne Rooney cleared of stamping

15 December 08 by Bill

No disciplinary action will be brought against Wayne Rooney after UEFA studied video evidence of the alleged stamp on Aalborg midfielder Kasper Risgaard in the 2 – 2 draw at Old Trafford last Wednesday.

After the game, Risgaard claimed he had stud marks on his chest after clashing with Rooney and suggested Rooney should have been sent off. When talking of a ban however, he said: “I heard UEFA is looking at this but I don’t think Rooney should be suspended”.

Thankfully, UEFA have agreed and an official spokesman revealed “UEFA will not open any disciplinary proceedings against Wayne Rooney.”

What a break. And Ronaldo’s cleared too. I love, they’re United players, but I hope the boss gives em’ a good swipe in the butts for their misjudgements.
